Grief and Loss
Stages of grief and mourning are universal and experienced by people by all backgrounds. Mourning is a response to an individual's own terminal illness, the loss of a close relationship, or to the death of a valued being, human or animal.
At times it is helpful to work through this process with a therapist who understands the stages of grief. Coping with loss is a deeply personal experience and the therapist can be helpful in processing feelings and reactions. Compassion and empathy are critical during this mourning process.
